Haha! In the past I always ended up doing fishnets by hand because I could never quite get them to look right if I used a brush in Photoshop, but I actually found an amazing fishnet brush for Clip Studio that I used for the first time on this piece. I'll make sure to include it if I do a CSP brush post!
Of course interested in the brushes! Do you actually use Photoshop on your iPad? I downloaded it and wasn’t really a fan after using Procreate. But maybe I need to give it more of a chance?
I tried Photoshop on the iPad when it was initially released and was completely unimpressed—at the time it didn't even have a rotate canvas function?! I've opened it a handful of times since then just to see if it's gotten any better, and they seem to have rolled out more features, but it feels like Adobe is trying to get illustrators/digital artists to use Fresco instead..... which... I just can't get into. Procreate feels far superior, imo. I do tend to prefer CSP over Procreate though, if only because it's SUPER customizable and I set it up to look and feel almost exactly like Photoshop on my computer 😂
Oof, sorry I missed this back when you left the comment! I have been told that I do have a very steady hand, but part of why my lines look as clean as they do is because I work very large and then size down for the final web-sized images I share online. I typically work at 600DPI and at least 4000px tall, so when that gets scaled down for web (usually I export at 72DPI/1200px tall) it generally has a smoothing effect on everything in the image—sort of camouflaging any imperfections. :)
Just joined and I would looooove to see some of the brushes you're using! I stopped drawing years ago, partly from depression, and just recently started again. There are just so many brushes out there, it's a little overwhelming! Love experimenting with them, though.
Not an artist, but I'm curious how you do the fishnets. Hopefully not by hand!

How do you get such pristine lines? Do you have a steady hand from practice or are you using a tool?

Love the classic night life aesthetic.
Such a beautiful piece. So excited to find out what this is for! Hopefully you'll be able to sell this as a print eventually, what a great Dinah 💕

I love it🖤
