AAPI: Lady Shiva & Cheshire
Collab cover project with Kevin Wada! 🎊
This was a super fun set of covers I got to work on a while ago—originally DC approached me about drawing both characters, but I of course had to take the opportunity to drag Kevin into it 😂💖
We knew we wanted to do a set of pinups featuring new looks for both characters on a backdrop of lanterns to tie them together, so after discussing some basics and sharing a mood board, Kevin sent over an initial thumbnail that I then worked off of to create a couple concept sketches.
Once those were approved, Kevin drew and colored Lady Shiva, I drew and colored Cheshire, and I also drew all the lanterns + graphic elements. Finally, Kevin worked his watercolor magic on the backgrounds which really helped to elevate both pieces.
